HowTo: Print for Free at SFU
First I would like to welcome everybody back to another great semester. Now for those of you who have always wondered, yes their is indeed a way to utilize the print terminals located around campus through web interfaces. The large network printers located on campus are very poorly secured, and are left wide open on the SFU Intranet.
Every network printer on campus runs its own administration web site, similar to that of your wireless router at home. These sites are however, quite insecure. By utilizing basic network scanning methods you will soon be able to locate the IP addresses of printers located throughout campus. Once the printers are located, one can simply upload jobs through the web interface to be released immediately. For the most part, this security through obscurity keeps the general student public from knowing this, but with a little networking knowledge it is not too hard to uncover for yourself.

CSSS Minecraft Server
The CSSS finally has its very own Minecraft server running 1.0.0! The server is running bukkit, which makes it extremely easy for us to customize the server to make it our own, through running various plugins. You can see the server through the dynmap web interface. We are currently running the following plugins:
- WorldGuard - Allows spawn protection, as well as other various protections on areas within the map.
- WorldEdit - Admin map management tools, allows us to quickly maintain the map.
- WorldBorder - Prevents the map (and memory) from growing to large.
- MoveCraft - Allows movement of vehicles (block groups) such as airships, boats, and cars.
- mobSpawner - Lets admins place various mobs on the map.
- MemMonitor - Keeps track of server memory usage, ensuring a memory leek does not threaten to crash the game.
- Lockette - Allows players to place locks on their chests, prevent theft.
- HomeX - Allows player to set a home location that they may teleport to in case they are in danger or get lost.
- HeroicDeath - Notifies everyone on the sever exactly how someone managed to get themselves killed.
- dynmap - Provides a web interface to the server, showing the map, current player locations, and server chat.
- Backup - Runs routine backups of the world map and player data should the server crash.

@SFUpop
Once again the Pop Machine in the CSSS Common Room will be tweeting on a regular basis. Originally the twitter account was set up as a joke, we do plan however, to continue with these founding ideals and ensure each tweet contains a sweet, sugary, sexual innuendo.
For anyone who doesn't know, the Pop Machine has traditionally been Capitalist in nature, opposing its biggest rival, the Communist fridge (@SFUfridge). Although these two don't tend to get along, they both share the common goal of providing adequately chilled refreshments.
For the latest Pop Machine news, follow @SFUpop on Twitter!
